Energy-efficient traffic lights can't melt snow
Funny/interesting news story here about how the new “energy-saving” stop lights and a big problem. They don’t waste as much energy but some of that waste heat used to melt the snow off the lights, no longer. This picture nicely sums up the whole situation.
My favorite thing about this story is imagining that there was some engineeer (maybe more than one) along the way who...
